String Theory
Wednesday, May 7, 2008

This entry has been edited! I thought about this more afterwards because it's hard for me to write a response to something so complicated straight after I've just spent an hour or so watching and trying to understand it.

I think that this theory may actually exist but it is really complicated. I find it really hard to understand but I think it's really interesting how they are trying to achieve unification of the four fundamental forces and find the equation that proves everything in the world. If we can really find this equation, we can explain everything about the world and every question we ever had about our existence, the world and the entire universe. I think this is exciting in some ways because all of life's questions can be answered by this SINGLE equation. This basically unites everything about the world, from science to philosophy to even religion and it could end the whole debate about how we humans came to be about. We humans strive to find the meaning of life, our place in the world and everything about existence. I'm really interested in philosophy and I think that it will be so amazing if all of life's questions could be answered!

However, I am not sure if we can really prove this. We might, but it may take us another lifetime to just reach this groundbreaking breakthrough in science they are so sure we are close to reaching. I think if we did prove/find this equation, life would be really different to what it is now. It would completely alter the way we think and live. Humans have a lot of curiosity which we try to satisfy whenever and however we can but sometimes, I think it's beauty to know there is still some mystery in the world.
